Also at Boing Boing is THIS...which is some blurb about how the Merck subsidiary Rosetta Inpharmatics (which was a start up within minimal data on board and I believe cost them about 600 million bucks in 2001) is about to release a whole heap of hard core genomics data into the public domain. This is VERY COOL!! and yes.....I am a nerd.

The Boys Get New Wheels

Adam is too beefy for the tag along bike so I have invested in a tandem. There is nothing better than riding together and I don't want to stop yet. I am hoping it is a long time before Adam thinks he is losing cool points by riding with his creaky old dad.

AND.....the bike was hand built in Pennsylvania so you can't get more local than that can ya?

Slipping

Sorry....my blog posting enthusiasm has been tempered a little bit by the grindingly cold weather we've been having. We did have a day or two of decent weather last week and managed to escape for some playtime.

Yesterday we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. We are spoiled that this great facility is almost literally on our doorstep (some of our friends can hear the lions roaring at night). The membership is $75 for the whole family and you can go as many times as you like for the whole year. How is that possible when Chester Zoo costs millions of pounds just to park your car there?

Oh yeah.....I bought another bike. Time to see a shrink I think.
