Hats of to Isuzu! Our poor old Trooper that had been rotting slowly for 3 years on Leo's driveway passed its MOT yesterday. It needed new wiper blades....! So....we are finally mobile which has made life easier and cheaper (we have been using rental cars at premium prices). Leo's wife Joanne sobbed and hugged me when I drove it away. I am assuming it was the joy of relief rather than a sad farewell. If anybody has suggestions on what I could possibly buy Joanne and Leo that would compensate them and reward their tolerance then let me know.
Pittsburgh continues to be at its beautiful best. When we arrived 10 days ago everything was still grey. No leaves on trees or blossoms. Now it is green everywhere and I can't stop sneezing nor wondering in amazement at how an old industrial town can have so much green space.
Interestingly there is no public debate here (as far as I can tell) about global warming. In contrast, the UK media seems obsessed (rightly) with the topic. So...I shake my head, wonder what will happen to us all and pump some more cheap gas into the Trooper . Gulp!
Adam came with us to tour the Falk school on Monday. It is a laboratory school attached to the University of Pittsburgh and seems to be incredibly open minded and relaxed. It was full of happy and well rounded children. My first thought was that they had locked all the nutters in the cellar before we arrived but there didn't seem to be any. Yet!
When we arrived, the smartly dressed headmaster showed us into his office. Adam had to be virtually dragged in wimpering adf then proceded to hide under the chair with his arse in the air. Nothing could tempt him out....not even Sophia sticking her head under the chair and soothing him with cries of "it's alwight Adam". We did the tour while Adam wimpered softly but by the time it was time to leave....he didn't want to go. He insisited on starting school right there and then. I was proud of him! Sadly it is extrememly tough to get into Falk so that may be asa far as we get.
More soon

You Mr P. COME ON THE REDS! Dd you get to watch the game? I didnt! I was in front of a wide screen telly (in fact there where 3 tellys!) in a nice pub. Got so p*ss*d before game that I cant remember any of it (apart from the penalties for some reason).
Hope all is well.

Global Warming??? Tell me what ever happenned to Acid Rain??
Pete.....we watched the game in Piper's pub in the middle of the afternoon with the kids. A far cry from our frolics in the Gardener's. Very sensible! Apart from when I stood on a chair and gesticulated wildly at the Chelsea contingent.
Hope you are well. Hi to Paula and the bairns.
Oh yes....now that you're domiciled in Londonium.....how come the Chelsea fans throw celery onto the pitch?
